Fashion's Night Out was conceived by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and designer and Council of Fashion Designers President Diane von Furstenberg, as a way for retailers, designers and all involved in the fashion world to come together to save their industry after the economy collapsed and it became clear people were too cash-strapped to shop.
